where there are some quite nice looking simple computer keys to Lichens. Might be worth a look?

I see there is some discussion regarding the future direction of the LA scheme going on just now.

I think that this is timely and will be a good thing as there needs to be future development and direction.

To this end I think it would probably be most productive if, rather than us all sending rambling emails to each other :-)we post on this blog ideas and thoughts on what we want to get from the Scheme, what subjects we would like to see covered in workshops/field meetings etc. It might be useful to indicate what we ourselves are prepared to do to help.

Thanks for making this comment Tom, it has been bugging me too. I think that any member of CCW staff who has signed up as an apprentice deserves full CCW support. Clearly this is not happening in ALL cases and this situation is unfair and of no benefit to CCW if keen people are being held back. As interested in Lichens as I am I am not sure I would want to give up 5 days annual leave to attend a course. Any other Lichen apprentices who agree might like to add a supportive comment too perhaps?

In an attempt to work off the Xmas excesses I spent some time over the holiday out and about walking in the woods and looking at lichens.
